Akita Dog Visitor Center

Overview

The Akita Dog Visitor Center, also known as Akita Inu no Sato, is located in front of Odate Station, the birthplace of the Akita dog, Hachiko. The building's exterior is modeled after the Taisho era Shibuya Station, where Hachiko famously waited for his owner. Inside, visitors can see Akita dogs, learn about the breed's history at the Akita Dog Museum, and purchase Akita-themed souvenirs.
