The Shigeo Fukuda Design Museum, located on the second floor of the Ninohe Civic Center in Iwate Prefecture, showcases the work of renowned Japanese graphic designer Shigeo Fukuda. Fukuda, who had a connection to Ninohe through his mother's temporary evacuation there, is known for his modern and industrial designs that boldly utilize primary colors. The museum offers a chance to appreciate design as an art form, focusing on the designer's sensibility rather than traditional artistic expression. Open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM), it's a great place to visit during the afternoon. Admission is ¥200 for adults and high school students, ¥100 for elementary and junior high school students, and free for preschoolers. Closed Mondays, the day after national holidays, and during the New Year holidays.
