Naminohashidate is a natural breakwater located on the south side of Lake Omi, Yamaguchi Prefecture's largest freshwater lake. This unique landform, created by the accumulation of sand and gravel due to the tides of the Sea of Japan, stretches 1300 meters. Visitors can stroll along the path that runs atop the breakwater, enjoying views of both the lake and the sea. While the view from ground level may not be immediately striking, the sunset views are particularly beautiful. It's also known as one of the favorite spots of the poet Misuzu Kaneko.
