Located within the Kosanji Temple Museum on Ikuchijima Island, Miraishin no Oka (Future Hill of Hope) is a stunning modern art garden featuring approximately 3,000 tons of white Carrara marble from Italy. Created by sculptor Kazuto Hangai, this 5,000-square-meter space offers a surreal landscape of monuments and sculptures, including the iconic Tower of Light. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea from this elevated vantage point. There is also a cafe on site. The best time to visit is in the morning or afternoon on a clear day to fully appreciate the contrast of the white marble against the blue sky. Note that an entrance fee to Kosanji Temple is required to access Miraishin no Oka.
