Kinryu-ji Temple, located a 10-minute drive from Ota Station, is a Soto Zen Buddhist temple with historical ties to the Nitta Yoshisada clan. Founded in 1417 by Nitta Sadauji to commemorate Nitta Yoshisada, the temple also became the family temple of the Yokose clan, lords of Kanayama Castle. Visitors can explore the main hall, admire the statues of the Seven Lucky Gods, and view the memorial tower dedicated to Nitta Yoshisada. The temple is known for its beautiful autumn foliage, though the stone steps leading to the temple can be steep. A hiking trail to Kanayama Castle starts from here, offering a chance to combine cultural exploration with a scenic walk.
