Overview

Ashinoyu Street, located between the Beniya and Tsuruya ryokans in Awara Onsen, is a charming lane known for its stone-paved path made of deep green stones. Just a 3-minute walk from Awara Yunomachi Station on the Echizen Railway, this street offers a taste of traditional onsen atmosphere, especially in the evening when the lanterns are lit. While some visitors find the street a bit underwhelming during the day, it's worth a stroll to experience the unique ambiance. Note that the street is not particularly barrier-free due to the stone pavement. Keep an eye out for the hand bath, though it may not always be functioning.
