Yumizuru no Izumi Spring, located in Iwate Town, is the legendary source of the Kitakami River. According to legend, in 1057, Minamoto no Yoshiie prayed for water during a military campaign, and when he struck a rock with his bow, a spring miraculously appeared. Today, visitors can see the spring and the small temple dedicated to this event. The site is accessible via a 15-minute bus ride from JR/IGR Iwate Numakunai Station, followed by a 15-minute walk. It's a peaceful spot to appreciate nature and local history.
