Hokosha Shrine, part of the sacred Togakushi Five Shrines, is known as the guardian of women and children. It's accessible via a 50-minute bus ride from JR Nagano Station, followed by a short walk from the Hokosha bus stop. The shrine is reached by climbing approximately 270 stone steps, surrounded by ancient cedar trees, leading to its historic main hall. The shrine is dedicated to Amenouwaharu no Mikoto, and the architecture reflects a blend of Shinto and Buddhist styles from the Edo period.
