Located within the Kita-in Temple grounds in Kawagoe, the Gohyaku Rakan (Five Hundred Arhats) is a collection of 538 unique stone statues completed over 50 years, starting in 1782. Each statue has a different expression, some humorous, and legend says that one will feel warm to the touch and resemble a deceased parent if touched at night. The entry fee is ¥400 for adults and ¥200 for children. It's a must-see when visiting Kita-in Temple.
