Izuizumi-so

Overview

Izuizumi-so is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property located in Shibata City, Niigata Prefecture. Originally the residence of the Ishizaki family, this historical site features meticulously maintained Japanese gardens and traditional architecture. A highlight is the Shibata River flowing through the garden, creating a unique and harmonious landscape. Visitors can enjoy a complimentary sencha tea and dried sweets while admiring the scenery. The garden is particularly beautiful in May when the azaleas are in bloom and during the autumn foliage season. Located at 3-11-21 Suwa-cho, Shibata City, it's easily accessible and offers a tranquil escape. Open to the public since 2012, Izuizumi-so provides a serene experience away from the crowds.
