Located in front of BRT Ofunato Station, Ofunato Port (Ofunato City Disaster Prevention Tourism Exchange Center) serves as a multi-purpose public facility and a symbol of recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. The center features a tourist information center where you can gather pamphlets and information about the city. The rooftop offers a panoramic view of the town, allowing visitors to compare pre- and post-disaster landscapes. Inside, the Ofunato Tsunami Memorial Hall conveys the threat and experience of the tsunami through videos and storytellers. A street piano is available for anyone to play, adding a unique touch to the experience. Note that the Tsunami Memorial Hall may not always be open.
