The Hanakurise Strait, known for its rapid currents, is a highlight of the Seto Inland Sea National Park. Located between Hakatajima and Omishima islands along the Shimanami Kaido, it's easily accessible via a 10-minute drive from the Omishima IC. The strait is spanned by the impressive Omishima Bridge, offering scenic views. Visit the Hanakurise Strait Observatory near the Omishima Bridge entrance for panoramic vistas. Note that the road to the observatory is narrow, and the currents are most visible from Hakatajima's Mount Hiraki Park. The best time to visit is during the day to fully appreciate the natural beauty.
