The Izu no Chohachi Art Museum in Matsuzaki showcases about 40 works by Chohachi Irie, a master of plaster relief art born in the town. These three-dimensional and realistic pieces are crafted using plaster and pigments, shaped solely with a trowel. The museum itself is a modern design by architect Nobuo Ishiyama, harmonizing with the traditional 'namako-kabe' (sea cucumber wall) style of the surrounding town. Located in Matsuzaki, Kamo District, Shizuoka, the museum is accessible by bus from Izukyu Rendaiji Station and a short walk. Admission is ¥500 for adults, and free for junior high school students and younger.
