Kuge no Okura, built in the late Edo period, was originally a sake storage cellar. Saved from demolition in 2000, it was transformed into a cultural exchange facility with traditional Portuguese azulejo tiles by Rogério Ribeiro. The blue tiles contrast beautifully with the white walls. Located in Hamamachi, Usuki, it's a 15-minute walk from JR Usuki Station. Today, it hosts mini-concerts and photo exhibitions. The exterior tile murals depict the history of Usuki and Portugal during the Otomo Sorin era. The interior is spacious and sometimes used for events.
