Shofuku-ji Temple, located a 12-minute walk from Satte Station in Saitama Prefecture, was founded between 1394 and 1428. The temple features an impressive main gate and a main hall with a traditional atmosphere. Historically, it served as a rest stop for Tokugawa shoguns and imperial envoys on their way to Nikko Toshogu Shrine. A notable feature is the remaining gate used exclusively by the shogun and envoys, adorned with the imperial chrysanthemum crest. The temple also operates a kindergarten, blending historical architecture with a playful environment. Visitors can appreciate the serene atmosphere and, during the season, enjoy the beautiful wisteria blossoms.
