Ryugu Cave, located in the Tagon district of Shimoda, is a natural sea cave formed by wave erosion. A highlight is the heart-shaped opening in the cave's ceiling, visible from above, which has made it a popular spot for couples. Visitors can descend into the cave to view it from below or take a path to an overlook for the heart-shaped view. Note that the shape's visibility can vary with the tide and viewing angle. Parking is available for a fee (¥500), and the site is easily accessible by car or bus from Izukyu Shimoda Station. Consider visiting during off-peak hours to avoid crowds, especially in summer.
