Kannon-ji Temple, located in the Omori district of Iwami Ginzan, is a historic temple founded to pray for the prosperity of the silver mine. Situated on a small, rocky hill in the center of Omori, the temple offers panoramic views of the town's traditional red-tiled roofs. Visitors can reach the temple by climbing a stone staircase, passing through the Niomon gate guarded by imposing statues. The main hall was rebuilt in 1860 after a fire, and the temple gate was relocated from the ancient Seisui Temple. It's a great photo spot to capture the beauty of Omori's old townscape. The best time to visit is in the morning to avoid backlight when photographing the southern view.
