The Mikuni Minato Machiya Museum is a tourist information center and rest stop located in a renovated traditional merchant house on Mikuni Minato Kitamae Street. Situated near notable landmarks like the Former Kishina Residence and the Former Morita Bank Head Office, it serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the historic Mikuni Minato area. Inside, you can view old photographs and videos of the Mikuni Festival, learn about the town's history as a port of call for Kitamae ships, and obtain maps for self-guided walking tours. The museum offers free admission, restrooms, and even rental bicycles (for a fee). Open from 9:00 to 17:00, except during the New Year holidays, it's an ideal place to take a break and gather information before exploring the charming streets of Mikuni.
