Mariudo Falls, selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls, is a magnificent three-tiered waterfall located in the middle reaches of the Urauchi River on Iriomote Island. The name Mariudo means "round pool." To reach the falls, take a boat to Gunkan-iwa (Battleship Rock) at the Urauchi River pier, then walk 1.5 km (30 minutes) to the observation deck. From there, it's another 400 meters (10 minutes) to the falls. The falls have a drop of 16 meters and a width of 20 meters. Enjoy the lush natural surroundings as you hike to this scenic spot.
