Seiryuji Temple, also known as the 35th temple on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, is located in Tosa City, Kochi Prefecture. Founded in 723, the temple is associated with Kobo Daishi (Kukai), who is said to have created a spring and mirror-like pond by striking the ground with his staff after 17 days of mountain training. The temple is renowned for its large Yakushi Nyorai statue, where visitors can participate in a "Kaidan Meguri" (underground passage) beneath the statue's base for good luck in warding off evil. Access by car involves navigating narrow mountain roads, so caution is advised. Alternatively, buses are available from Kochi Station, followed by a 40-minute walk from the nearest bus stop.
