Located in front of Joetsu-Naotsu Station in Niigata Prefecture, the Mitsuko Mori's Hourouki Monument commemorates the actress Mitsuko Mori and the play "Hourouki." The monument stands in front of the former Ikaya Ryokan (now Hotel Century Ikaya), where the author of "Hourouki," Fumiko Hayashi, stayed. The monument features a bronze statue of Mori and Hayashi and is inscribed with Mori's calligraphy of Hayashi's favorite quote. It's a unique and heartwarming monument for visitors to appreciate.
