Shinkyo Bridge, also known as Shinkyo Sacred Bridge, is a stunning vermilion-lacquered bridge located at the entrance to Nikko's shrines and temples. Originally rebuilt in 1904, this bridge is steeped in legend, said to have been formed by two snakes to aid a priest's passage. As one of Japan's three most unique bridges, it's a designated World Heritage site and an Important Cultural Property. Visitors can admire its beauty from afar or pay a small fee to walk across. Open from 8:00 to 17:00 (with seasonal variations), it's easily accessible by bus from JR/Tobu Nikko Station. Don't miss this iconic symbol of Nikko!
