Mitaki Falls, located in Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture, is named for its three-tiered cascade of waterfalls. Accessible by car (20 minutes from Koshoku IC) or taxi (20 minutes from Shinano Railway Yashiro Station), the falls offer a serene natural escape. Note that the road leading to the falls is a mountain road. Parking is available for about 5 cars. While the falls themselves may not be overwhelmingly powerful, the pristine water and surrounding scenery, especially with snow, make for a worthwhile visit. Be aware of potential bear sightings and consider driving rather than walking due to the distance and uphill terrain.
