Magariya Farmhouse

The Magariya Farmhouse, originally built in 1862, is a preserved traditional farmhouse relocated to Ichinoseki Tameike Park in Naka City. This rare example of a "magariya" (hook-shaped house) showcases a unique architectural style common in colder regions, featuring an integrated stable and living quarters. Visitors can explore the interior, complete with a traditional hearth and artifacts, offering a glimpse into rural life of the past. Special displays, such as the hanging Hina dolls during the Doll Festival, add to the charm. Located within Ichinoseki Tameike Park, it's easily accessible and provides a serene atmosphere for a cultural experience. Open to the public free of charge.
