Oppo-ji Temple, founded in 736 by order of Emperor Shomu, is a historic temple in Niigata Prefecture. The temple is a short drive from the Arakawa-Tainai Interchange. Its three-story pagoda, built in 1620, is designated as an Important Cultural Property. Key attractions include the treasure hall housing the sacred left eye of Buddha, the Dokkon water spring associated with Kobo Daishi, and a Benten shrine.
