Umi Hachimangu Shrine, located in Umi Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, is renowned as a shrine for safe childbirth. Legend says that Empress Jingu gave birth to Emperor Ojin here upon returning from her conquest of Korea. The shrine grounds feature several large camphor trees, designated as natural monuments, creating a serene and historical atmosphere. Visitors often come to pray for safe childbirth and to see the 'Koyasu no Ishi' (childbirth stones). The shrine is easily accessible from Umi Station and offers a peaceful retreat with its lush greenery and sacred ambiance. It's a particularly popular destination for families during Shichi-Go-San (Seven-Five-Three) celebrations in November.
