Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, located in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, is a historically significant Shinto shrine and a component of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site. Easily accessible 20-minute walk from Fujisan Station or a short drive from the Kawaguchiko Interchange, this shrine is dedicated to the deity Konohanasakuya-hime, protector of volcanoes. The shrine grounds feature ancient cedar and cypress trees, impressive stone lanterns, and the traditional starting point for the Yoshida Trail up Mount Fuji. Visitors can explore the main hall, designated as an Important Cultural Property, and experience the serene atmosphere of the sacred grounds.
