Komasaodaira offers stunning views of the Zao mountain range, including Kigaeri Falls and the Nigorigawa Valley. This scenic spot is also known for its alpine plants, particularly the "Koma Kusa" (Dicentra peregrina), which blooms from mid-June to August. Located within the Kurauishidake National Forest in Zao Town, Miyagi Prefecture, it's accessible by bus from Shiroishi-Zao Station or by car via the Tohoku Expressway. Note that the road is closed from early November to late April. With ample parking and a rest house, Komasaodaira provides a relaxing alternative to the crowded areas around Okama crater. Be prepared for strong winds and cooler temperatures, especially in the valleys.
