The Peace Memorial Hall in Itoman, Okinawa, is a 45-meter monument shaped like hands clasped in prayer, symbolizing a commitment to preventing the recurrence of war. Built in 1978, it houses a peace memorial statue created by local artist Mayama Yamada over 18 years. Visitors can also explore a butterfly garden featuring the peaceful "Ogomadara" butterflies. Located within Peace Memorial Park, the hall offers a serene space for reflection and remembrance. Open daily from 9:00 to 17:00, admission is ¥350 for children and ¥450 for adults, with free entry on Okinawa Memorial Day (June 23) and the anniversary of the end of World War II (August 15). The hall is wheelchair accessible.
