The Toki Fureai Plaza, located within Toki Forest Park on Sado Island, offers visitors a unique opportunity to observe Japanese crested ibises (toki) up close. While direct interaction isn't possible, the facility features large cages designed to mimic the birds' natural habitat, allowing for observation of their behavior. The plaza includes observation windows and telescopes to enhance viewing, and exhibits detail the conservation efforts surrounding these rare birds. Note that the best views are often from a distance, and patience may be required to see the toki active. Open daily except Mondays (March-November) and New Year's holidays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM).
