Koyozan Bokunji Temple (Temple Number 6)

Overview

Koyozan Bokunji Temple, also known as Temple Number 6 on the Chichibu Pilgrimage, is a Soto Zen temple founded in 1638. Perched on a hill in Yokoze, it offers stunning views of Mount Buko. The temple is dedicated to the Sho Kannon, believed to be crafted by the revered monk Gyoki. Visitors can explore the main hall, Yakushi Hall, Bokun Inari Shrine, and a collection of six Jizo statues. Don't miss the "Negai Jizo" (Wishing Jizo), believed to grant blessings for healing, fertility, academic success, and wish fulfillment.
