Mount Takatori, located between Yokosuka and Zushi in Kanagawa Prefecture, is a popular destination for hiking and rock climbing. Easily accessible from Keikyu Oppama Station (40-minute walk), this former quarry site features unique rock formations, including a cliffside Magaibutsu (stone-carved Buddha). Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Tokyo Bay and even see the Tokyo Skytree on clear days from the observation deck. The mountain offers various hiking trails suitable for different skill levels, connecting to nearby areas like Jinmuji Temple and Higashi-Zushi Station. Rock climbing is permitted with proper registration through the Takatoriyama Safety Climbing Association. Best visited during the day for optimal views and exploration.
