The Former Yonezawa Higher Technical School Main Building, a designated Important Cultural Property, is located on the Yamagata University Faculty of Engineering campus. Completed in July 1910, this beautiful two-story wooden structure in the Renaissance style is believed to have been designed by an Englishman. While the building's interior is not open to the public, visitors can admire its impressive exterior. The architecture served as a model for the current Yonezawa Station building. The building can be viewed freely, but reservations are required for groups of 10 or more.
