Located just a minute's walk from Izu-Atagawa Station, the Atagawa Banana Crocodile Garden is a unique attraction featuring three distinct areas. Explore a lush botanical garden showcasing around 9,000 species of tropical plants, including hibiscus and orchids, cultivated using the area's abundant hot spring heat. Discover 22 species of crocodiles from around the world, with approximately 200 crocodiles currently residing in the crocodile garden. The annex boasts a tropical fruit garden with bananas and papayas, as well as adorable red pandas and Mississippi alligators in a natural pond setting. Note that the garden has many stairs and slopes. Open year-round, it's a fascinating destination for nature and animal lovers.
