The Oguri Residence, a registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, is a beautifully preserved Meiji-era merchant house located in Handa. Built in the early Meiji period, this two-story structure features a distinctive tile roof and a traditional lattice-enclosed shopfront. While the interior is not generally open to the public, the garden is specially opened during the Wansan White Banksia Rose Festival in late April. Located a 5-minute walk from JR Handa Station, it's a great place to see traditional Japanese architecture. Admire the exterior and imagine life in a bygone era.
