Enmei Jizo is located in Tsumago, a preserved post town of the old Nakasendo highway. This small temple houses a large stone believed to have an image of Jizo emerging from it. According to local legend, the stone was found in the nearby river and enshrined by the townspeople. The stone is also known as the 'sweating Jizo' because it appears to be wet due to condensation. Located near the Kotoku-ji Temple, it offers a glimpse into the spiritual beliefs of the Edo period. It's a quick stop, perfect when exploring the historic Tsumago.
