Tsukubasan Omidō is a historic temple located near Tsukuba Shrine on Mount Tsukuba, easily accessible by bus from Tsukuba Station or via a scenic hiking trail. As the 25th temple on the Bando 33 Kannon Pilgrimage, it offers spiritual solace and stunning views of the Kanto Plain. The main hall, recently rebuilt in 2020, houses a revered statue of the Thousand-Armed Kannon. Visitors can explore the temple grounds, admire the architecture, and obtain a Goshuin (temple stamp). Note that the head priest has a tobacco allergy, so smokers should be mindful when receiving the Goshuin. The temple is a peaceful retreat offering both cultural and natural beauty.
