The Ozu Castle Karamushi Cotton Tower, located along the Hiji River near Ozu Castle, is a designated Important Cultural Property. Built in 1843, this two-story tower once served as both a defensive structure and a warehouse for fiber materials. While the interior is not accessible, visitors can appreciate its historical architecture from the outside. It's situated a bit away from the main castle park area, offering a quieter, more contemplative experience. The tower is easily viewed from the riverside, providing various vantage points. Visit during the day to fully appreciate the details of this well-preserved Edo-period structure.
