Explore Matsumae Temple Town, located just north of Matsumae Castle, where you'll discover a serene cluster of five temples, a remnant of the over twenty that once stood here during the Edo period. Often called the "Little Kamakura of the North," this area offers a unique atmosphere distinct from the castle grounds. Rebuilt after the Meiji Restoration, these temples, including Hokke-ji, Ryūun-in, Hōdō-ji, and Kōzen-ji, are essential to Matsumae Park. Visit during the cherry blossom season for a particularly stunning view. The town is a 10-minute walk from Matsushiro Bus Stop.
