The Suigo Sawara Dashi Kaikan is located in Katori, Chiba Prefecture, a 15-minute walk from Sawara Station or a 5-minute drive from the Sawara-Katori IC on the Higashi-Kanto Expressway. This museum showcases two elaborately decorated festival floats (dashi) used in the Sawara Grand Festival, some reaching up to 9 meters tall. Visitors can experience the festival's excitement year-round and learn about the history and craftsmanship behind these impressive floats through video presentations and exhibits. The museum also features displays of JR posters promoting the Sawara festivals and intricate models of the town's preserved buildings. Barrier-free facilities include wheelchair-accessible restrooms. Open daily (except Mondays and New Year's) with extended hours during the Iris Festival and Summer Festival.
