This sacred site features the Okunoin Hall, formally known as Nyoho-do, which enshrines statues of Shaka Nyorai and Tahō Nyorai. Adjacent to it is the Daibutsuden Hall, housing a magnificent 5-meter golden Amida Nyorai statue (photography is prohibited inside). Reaching Okunoin offers a sense of accomplishment and spiritual fulfillment. Be sure to allocate at least an hour for the climb and exploration.
