Overview

The Japanese Giant Salamander Center, located near Akame Falls in Nabari, Mie Prefecture, is a unique museum dedicated to the fascinating giant salamanders. Home to over 160 salamanders, both native and foreign, this center offers a rare opportunity to observe these creatures up close. The center is conveniently located a 10-minute bus ride from Kintetsu Akameguchi Station, followed by a short walk. Admission is ¥500 for adults and includes entry to Akame Shijuhachitaki Falls. It's an interesting place to visit when exploring the Akame area.
