Located in Shizukuishi, Iwate Prefecture, Amhari Onsen Ski Resort is a traditional ski destination loved by locals for its quality snow and dynamic slopes. The resort is easily accessible, about a 40-minute drive from Morioka IC on the Tohoku Expressway or via bus from JR Morioka Station (reservations required for lodging guests). Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, lift tickets are free for elementary school children and younger. After a day on the slopes, relax at the 1300-year-old Amhari Onsen. Open from late December to late March, the resort offers seven slopes with varying difficulty levels, a terrain park, and a kids' area. Parking is free with space for 500 vehicles.
