Discover the Ammo-Ura Observatory, located behind Kokumin Shukusha Kurosaki-so. A 262-step staircase leads to this viewpoint, marking the easternmost point at 40°00'00"N. The observatory offers stunning views of a waterfall cascading down a cliff directly into the Pacific Ocean, creating a striking contrast. The waterfall's drop is said to be the highest in Iwate Prefecture, exceeding 100 meters. The name "Ammo" comes from the Ainu word for scary entities, believed to have inhabited the area. It's located near the Michinoku Coastal Trail.
