Located in Chiran, Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima Prefecture, Morigeken's Garden is a serene and historically significant site. Once the residence of a prominent family who served as senior retainers to the lord of Kikkou Castle, the garden features a unique pond-style layout, setting it apart from other gardens in the area. Admire the meticulously arranged rocks and the symbolic representation of water flow through carefully placed stones. The residence and storehouse, dating back to 1741, offer a glimpse into the past. The garden is accessible by bus from Kagoshima Central Station (70 minutes, 36km). Open to the public, it provides a tranquil escape and a chance to appreciate traditional Japanese garden design.
