Maizuru Castle Park, also known as Kofu Castle Ruins, is a historic site easily accessible just a 5-minute walk from Kofu Station. Built in 1600, it was once known as Ichijo Koyama Castle and later under the ownership of Yoshisato Yanagisawa during the mid-Edo period. Today, the park offers beautifully maintained stone walls, reconstructed gates and turrets, and panoramic views of Kofu City and, on clear days, Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps from the castle keep site. It's a popular spot for cherry blossoms in spring. The park is free to enter, making it an ideal destination for history enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Explore the Inari Turret, which houses a small museum, and enjoy a leisurely stroll through this tranquil urban oasis.
