Obayachi is a marshland located on the border of Semboku and Kazuno cities in Akita Prefecture, en route to Tamagawa Onsen from Hachimantai. Situated at an altitude of 970 meters, this 4-hectare wetland is surrounded by beech forests and features plants like cotton grass. Visitors can enjoy various flowers from spring to summer, including skunk cabbage, azaleas, and daylilies. In autumn, the expansive marshland offers beautiful scenery with colorful beech trees. Note that due to bear activity, the boardwalk and parking area may be closed, with viewing limited to the roadside. It's best enjoyed as a scenic drive.
