Makino Park, located in Sakawa Town, Kochi Prefecture, is a renowned cherry blossom viewing spot, selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. The park's history began when Dr. Tomitaro Makino sent Somei Yoshino cherry tree seedlings from Tokyo, which were planted near the Seigenji Temple. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of Sakawa town from the park's summit and explore various plants and flowers throughout the year. The park also features a monument to Sakawa Castle and the graves of Dr. Makino and Count Mitsuaki Tanaka. It's a beautiful destination, especially during the spring cherry blossom season.
