Sogenji Sazae Hall, located in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, is one of Japan's three unique Sazae Halls, featuring a distinctive architectural style. Originally built in 1187, the hall houses a hundred Kannon statues and is known for its historical significance and the serene atmosphere. Visitors can explore the interior, which has a special structure that allows you to ascend and descend without retracing your steps, offering a symbolic pilgrimage experience. The hall is also part of the Ota Seven Lucky Gods pilgrimage, with a stamp located in front of the grounds. The temple is accessible by car in 15 minutes from Ota Station and also features beautiful hydrangeas, making June a particularly lovely time to visit.
