The Takajomachi Bukeyashiki "Buko-kan" is a preserved samurai residence located in what was once the "Takajomachi" district of Tatebayashi, where mid-ranking samurai lived during the Edo period. The area retains the atmosphere of a samurai residential district with its preserved house lots, residences, earthen walls, house gates, and garden trees. The Buko-kan features a gate and main building that reflect the simplicity of the time. Open on weekends and holidays, it offers a glimpse into the lives of samurai. Nearby attractions include the Shozo Tanaka Memorial Hall and a nagayamon (long gate house).
